Immunotherapy or biotherapy is the treatment which uses certain parts of the immune system to fight off cancer.   • Monoclonal antibodies work differently. Naked monoclonal antibodies are the most common type used in cancer treatment. This type of antibody doesn’t have anything attached to them, and inform the immune system to either attack cancer cells or block the proteins within the tumors which help the cancer cell grow.
  • Conjugated monoclonal antibodies include an anti-cancer protocol attached to them. These antibodies attach directly to cancerous cells. This means that the chances of side effects are lowered since the treatment goes directly to the cancer cells. It is usually used alongside chemotherapy.
  • Biospecific monoclonal antibodies have been designed to bind themselves to two different types of proteins simultaneously.
